National Teacher Research Panel 2004
"Where children are taught creatively and creativity is valued in children’s thinking, connections between knowledge, understanding and skills naturally occur. Promoting the creative development of children and encouraging an ethos in which creative and cultural diversity is valued and supported".
Ellen and Tara have developed a lively and interactive programme of story telling that supports a creative curriculum. Ellen and Tara use stories from all around the world and deliver them using musical instruments and simple props that the children can use safely. All the stories have an ethical point that are accessible to children and are ideal to be included in Personal, Social and Health education and Citizenship. There are a variety of themed days that can be offered to link to, for example, Book Week (1st – 5th October 2007) as well as an opportunity for tailor made story days linked to curriculum subjects, such as a Human Orrery performance that shows how the sun, moon and earth move around each other..
Ellen and Tara are both police checked with £2 million liability insurance.
Ellen and Tara operate in the Kent and Medway area.
A Teachers’ pack will be included in the price of the day, which has a CD of guided meditations, ideas and activities to extend the story telling and the ethical point to bring a broader learning experience into the classroom. The age range for the story telling is currently 3 to 11. Price for a full days’ story telling is £200 +VAT.
The group size is limited to 40 children for the duration of a single or double lesson to ensure all the children are engaged. It is also possible for a taster story to be told to the whole school at assembly if required.
