This newsletter comes late - my apologies for those who look forward to reading something different. I am waiting in anticipation for Wimbledon and enjoying the weather when we are blessed with it. Interest has been steady and we expect an increase in the Autumn - I must remember to call SMg!
Hope you have a lovely summer.

Keep your fridge between 3-5°c - you can do this by keeping a thermometer
in the fridge and your energy bill will be a bit less. Also clean the coils
at the back of the fridge as this can reduce efficiency by 30%. A fridge-saver
plug will also reduce your energy costs (over a period of time). Keep your fridge
away from the cooker and other heat like radiators as this will make the fridge
work more than it needs to, to keep cool. www.savawatt.com/savaplug.htm

An alarming piece of mail reached me a few weeks ago and although I had a feeling it was a rumble I wasn't absolutely sure so I went on the official web-site and found out more. A company (don't ask me how this is legal) is demanding that you be registered with them and they are called the Data Protection Enforcement Agency. The fee is quite high (£95 plus VAT) and they threaten that you can be fined if you do not send them a fee. The Data Protection Agency know about them and ask that you do not send them any money as they are completely unrelated. Please pass this information on to anyone that you know that may be affected as the DPA do require anyone to be registered that hold personal information for a reasonable annual fee of £35 (no VAT), whether or not the details are on computer or paper. The Data Protection Enforcement Agency are probably targeting people that would hold personal details on file.

Super Juice by Mitchell Beazley is the best book I have found to date on juicing and it gives you all sorts of health ingredients and funky recipes. From cleansing to pick-me-up to detoxing. There is even a table of health conditions with the juice recipes to help the body heal.
For example
Hair of the dog
6 unpeeled carrots
4 radishes with leaves(if possible)
2 unpeeled apples
1 shot of vodka - stirred into the finished drink.

If you have a juicer or are thinking about it, make sure you get a book that you like the look of and a juicer that is easy to use (even if you pay a bit more for it initially). A complicated or messy juicer will be a whole waste of money as you won't bother to use it after 2 weeks!
An interesting book that draws on ancient wisdom to challenge the way we live our modern lives. To live in the moment and simplify life. This book is very insightful and will help any reader to use the exercises and principles to 'be happy now'.
My advice is to cut down on the amount of news you read or watch - most of
it is repeated and we can become obsessed with a morbid curiosity for suffering.
We can do little about the plight of people once the event has already taken
place anyway and we would be far more useful if we did more for our fellow humankind.
For example smile more, set up a small and regular direct debit to Oxfam or
your favourite charity, consume less products from third world countries that
have a poor track record for looking after their workers. Positive, active steps
like these are far healthier.
See you in the Autumn
