It is that time again and I am sitting in front of my computer wondering what to talk to you about this month. There has been so much happening that it is difficult to know where to begin. We have all been shocked by the events in New York and to us here at therapy pages it came really close to home as that is where our Steve spends a lot of his time. As luck should have it and someone was watching over him, Steve was at home in Gillingham that week and we were all of us in fact sitting in a cinema watching Planet of the Apes when the towers were struck. Needless to say we were as shocked as everyone else when we heard the news and send our sympathies to all the people involved. It seems a little trite to mention now that we had in fact booked our tickets to go over in November for a few days sight seeing and Christmas shopping. It is just a case of waiting to see what will happen before we make a decision about going or not as the case may be.
On a much happier note we took a girlie trip to Glastonbury and stayed overnight at a delightful B&B. I did manage the trek up to the top of the Tor but only just. As I am not as fit as I should be I suggested the younger members of the party go on ahead of me as I was slowing them down. I sat on a seat and got my breath back and was joined by a large ginger cat who came and sat beside me and walked beside me as I began my trek up the hill again. Unfortunately I had not bargained for the fact that just around the corner the path came agonisingly close to the edge and I am afraid of heights. I was doing fine until I happened to glance to my left and saw what to me was a dizzying drop. I turned my back on it and froze!! I grasped a handful of grass and stood waiting for my courage to return, it didn't, but fortunately Tara did. She had reached the top and felt my desperate need for rescue and rushed back down, to see me standing there holding on to a few blades of grass. When we had stopped laughing she took my hand and together we made it to the top where the view was stunning. It was a beautiful warm day and the air was clear. We decided to walk back down the other side as the going was easier (and the path not close to the edge) the cat accompanied us on the way down and there were some workmen repairing the concrete steps. The cat was racing on ahead of us and managed to land on the freshly laid concrete, he leapt off and made his paw prints on the 2nd one, the workmen smoothed off one but decided to leave the 2nd set for prosperity. Of course we could not be left out so clamoured to be allowed to write our names in his nice smooth cement. He kindly agreed so if you want to see what we wrote you will have to visit the Tor and see for yourselves.
We carried on down to the town and visited the Chalice Well and spent a long time wandering around this quiet peaceful place. The atmosphere there is intense. After so much peace and quiet we had lunch and then hit the shops with a vengeance, there was so much choice we could not manage them all in the little time we had left ourselves as we wanted to visit Stonehenge on the way home. We managed to get there with just half an hour to spare and were impressed with the majesty of the great stones. It was late evening when we arrived so our visit was not as long as we would have liked but we are already planning our next trip.
Autumn seems to have arrived, the leaves are starting to turn and fall, the evenings are getting darker and there is a nip in the air. It will soon be time for winter coats and scarves so keep safe and well. The next news letter will be in December so come on let me have your news and views. Perhaps you can send me some tips for novel ways to wrap gifts or something or recipes, put your thinking caps on and email me click here see you soon.
Love light and twinkling stars
Hazel.

The recipe this month is for a warming soup very appropriate I think with halloween coming up you will need:-
heat the oil and fry the ginger, nutmeg and coriander for 4 to 5 minutes. Add all the chopped vegetables and sweat gently for 20 minutes, add the stock, salt and pepper and a little lemon juice allow to simmer gently adding more stock if needed. Put the whole lot into a food processor and blend until smooth, serve with a small dollop of sour cream and some fresh crunchy bread.
